hHCS 405 WK Individual Assignment Essay
Reducing agency staff, I choose this budget cut because it leaves more positions open for the facilities own staff and this form of help is a high cost, twice as high a regular hospital staff but each open job is continually monitored to determine if that position needs to be filled. Changing the skill mix, this option allows for unlicensed assistive personnel to address economic realities. This cost cutting choice option allows for nurse to be able to delegate minor jobs in order focus on more complicated ones (University of Phoenix, 2013). Which loan option did you select? Why? Loan option 1, this loan actually allowed for a longer period of repaying the loan, even if it has 9.45% interest rate, as option 2 does not give you the ability for the three month loan closure and it needs to be repaid in six monthsââ¬â¢ time. Being that this is a facility which needs flexibility option 1 provides the best possible alternative for achieving substantial financial grounds (University of Phoenix, 2013). What was the outcome of your decision? The outcome for my decision was that it was in good health for EFC. The decision to reduce a portion of agency contract staff was good because it decreases outflow of cash through expenses without hurting or decreasing the facilities actual revenue by saving on premiums it pays to staffing agencies and their management fees so it is a huge cost saver. Changing the skill mix made for a good budget saver for Elijah Heart Center because it helps save the company money in the long haul. There will be an increase in costs in the beginning in regards to the less o hospital training, but overall workers can assist with the registered nurses with simple tasks like, feeding and the moving of patients. Licensed nurses can focus more on the more complicated task such as those directly affecting or related to patient care. As for my loan option it was the best choice for solving the hospitalââ¬â¢s capital shortfall because EHC will receive $2,300,000 as payments from Medicare and other managed care organizations within three months. This will undoubtly solve Elijah Heart Center cash flow problem, were as option two could not be prepaid in six months (University of Phoenix, 2013). Phase II: Funding Options for Equipment Acquisition Which cost-effective equipment selections did you make? Why? High speed-CT Scanner Refurbished Equipment Loan, this option I felt was best because the technology advancement for this machine is not expected to change much and the cost is high to buy new $750,000 and its life expectancy is around 10 years if brought new. Therefore buying new can greatly affect the hospitalââ¬â¢s finances and getting equipment that is refurbished is much more cost saving with a 30 ââ¬â 50 percent cheaper sale tag and it decreases staff training costs. X-Ray Machine-Capital Lease, seems to be the best option for this equipment because the likely hood of needing to be upgraded or changed is low and it life expectancy is 15 right around years the cost of this machine is 320,000, so a capital lease just makes more sense than the rest plus this form of leasing allows the company to be able to have the option to purchase the equipment at a bargain purchase option and the; lease itself is transferred at the end of the lease automatically. & Ultrasound System-Operating Lease, this is the best option for this equipment because this can be a device equipment that can have an technical advancement or change in the long run and using other methods could make purchasing this equipment worthless in the future event of advances in technology so it would be a loss cause or investment to have reflect on the balance sheet or to buy new or refurbished. This form of obtaining the equipment is treated s a rental and is not included on the balance sheet as with a capital lease and there is no bargain purchase option either (University of Phoenix, 2013). What was the outcome of your decision? The outcome of my decision was the best possible choices for the company as the high speed CT scanner being refurbished allowed for the equipment to be purchased cheaper than being brought new. As for getting the x-ray machine on a capital lease makes this the best option because higher present value compared to the operating lease or buying refurbished equipment and the business has the option of buying the equipment at a bargain price or taking up a new lease and with the life expectancy of this machine being 15 years with little or low possibility of change it makes for a good investment and means of saving finances in the long run. Last on the list is the ultrasound system getting an operating lease is best suited for the company because it allows for an upgrade. The option of the operating lease helps in taking care of technological obsolescence (University of Phoenix, 2013). Phase III: Funding Options for Capital Expansion Which source of funding did you select? Why? HUD 242 Loan Insurance Program I choose because the hospital can payoff this loan before its time without precautions and it allows the facility to be able to do this after eight years. Although its rate were cheaper than a private bank loan and higher than the tax-exempt and revenue bonds it allowed for a year advantage of loan payoff over tax-exempt, as well as not putting a limit on the period of use for the funds interest rate is lower than both other options setting at a 3.90 percent and tax-exempt is 4.18 percent, and private bank funding is 4.50 percent (University of Phoenix, 2013). What was the outcome of your selection? The outcome for my decision was that this funding option was a healthy choice, as well as the best possible option for Elijah Heart Center (EHC). Benefits were that the option was callable after years instead of tens and that if the interest rates were to decrease it would be possible for the organization to buy back the bonds and reissue the debt making it more profitable for Elijah Heart Center (University of Phoenix, 2013). Summary and Conclusions What did you learn from this simulation? I learned that buy choosing the best options for the business I am able to better provide equipment, workers, and finances for acquiring equipment, expansion and staffing of the facility. What would you do differently if you performed the simulation again? If I were to reduce this again I would not change anything as the other options badly affected the budget and other mixtures were not good ones they decreased cost but keep dipping as months went by, which would ultimately affect the overall finances for the business thus creating issues such as down-sizing being a reality and or the reduction of benefits to staff and reducing length of stay really does not have an effect on saving or benefiting the company at all. How will you apply what you learned at your current or future job? I could apply what I have learned at my future job by keeping the result and notes for my simulation as a guide for planning and determining how to spend revenue earned or needed to keep my business operational. As well as being able to suggest possible ways and ideas for saving my current business money were equipment and loans are of use. In my future job/business I plan on running my own CMA/CNA facility this can help me with determining the best loans to get for equipment, supplies, and materials needed to run a fully functioning and profitable business. I can sue this simulation to decide on the best way to get those supplies, equipment by determining the cost for leasing or buying new or used equipment. I will be allowed to make a more clear and informed decision about my current and future business ventures. Once I get into a medical facility and staff thoughts and decisions are taken into consideration for future changes I will be able to give an realistic suggestion or idea for changes that can affect staffââ¬â¢s jobs, future positions, benefits, and care and treatment of patients. . One Flew over the Cuckooââ¬â¢s Nest Essay
In the novel, One Flew over the Cuckooââ¬â¢s Nest, the author, Ken Kesey, chose a patient suffering from schizophrenia to narrate the story that is based on Keseyââ¬â¢s own experiences. The first-person narrative of a patient, Chief Bromden, makes the asylum setting ordinary, and encourages the reader to invest in the personalities of its inhabitants instead of perceiving the characters as mere poke and shallow. Kaseyââ¬â¢s inclusion of Bromdenââ¬â¢s delusions within the narrative itself, which are at first a disruption to the reader used to linear narratives of the real, become merely another narrative model for the reader as the novel progresses. Demonstration thought allows the reader to discover that while Bromdenââ¬â¢s disability makes him different, it is not debilitating for him as a narrator, nor, more importantly, as a man. Such insights into Bromden and the others initiate in the reader a reassessment of potentially unexamined perceptions of mental institutions, their inhabitants, and lead the reader to review the origins of concepts such as blind and speechless. The novel is seen through the eye of Chief Bromden and how he interprets the world he lives in, which he calls ââ¬Å"the Combine. Bromden has a very observant eye and gives detailed descriptions. His peerââ¬â¢s false assumption of Bromdenââ¬â¢s hearing gives Chief the ability to spy, revealing foreshadowing details. Although these characteristics make him a reliable source and a high-quality narrator, because of Chiefââ¬â¢s hallucinations and paranoia, some of his opinions and visions are misleading. If the story were told through a sane characte r, such as Randal McMurphy, the distinction between reality and illusion would have been more lucid. Using Chief Bromden as a narrator puts limitations on the readerââ¬â¢s interpretations, but also gives a very reliable and creative perspective of the events in Ken Keseyââ¬â¢s, One Flew over the Cuckooââ¬â¢s Nest. Very detailed descriptions make a scene seem more real. Chief Bromden is a very descriptive narrator and he describes his world uniquely. ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s still hard for me to have clear mind thinking on it. But itââ¬â¢s the truth even if it didnââ¬â¢t happen (13),â⬠said Bromden. Though what he describes sounds unrealistic and impossible, it, metaphorically, is true and gives the reader a better understanding of the context, even if it didnââ¬â¢t actually happen. When Nurse Ratched became very intense, Bromden described her as ââ¬Å"swelling up, swells till her backââ¬â¢s splitting out of the white uniform (11). â⬠A person cannot swell and rip out of their cloths in a matter of seconds and this example shows how exaggerated and animated Bromden narrates. This description gives the reader a clear picture of how mad and furious this woman can get. When Bromden witnesses McMurphy encounter the nurse in the hallway wearing only a towel, Chief describes the big nurseââ¬â¢s reaction as he interprets it. Bromden explains the nurseââ¬â¢s reaction as going from a beastly scary size to a small intimidated size. ââ¬Å"Just as sheââ¬â¢s rolling along at her biggest and meanest, McMurphy steps out of the latrine door right in front of her, holding a towel around his hips-stops her dead! She shrinks to about head-high to where that towel covers him, and heââ¬â¢s grinning down on her. Her own grin is giving way, sagging at the edges (86). â⬠Bromden explains how the nurse felt extremely threatened by McMurphy exposed sexuality in a very creative and effective way. Metaphorically, what he saw is true. Bromdenââ¬â¢s unique way of understanding and then explaining events helps emphasize important details in the novel and having this ability makes him an informative narrator. Along with his unique eye, Bromden has a very interesting way of eavesdropping that also makes him a great narrator. Chief Bromdenââ¬â¢s lack of speech created the impression that Chief was ââ¬Å"deaf and dumbâ⬠to the other patients and workers on the ward. ââ¬Å"Just a bi-big deaf Indian,â⬠(26) this is how the stuttering Billy Bibbit describes Bromden to the sane Randal McMurphy. Little do they know the quite and discreet patient listens in on the surrounding conversations as he sweeps the corridors. The Chiefââ¬â¢s secret sense of hearing gives him the advantage not just the advantage of self informative but an advantage to all of the gossip within the ward and that makes him a knowledgeable character. The knowledge that Bromden overhears is one of the reasons he makes a good narrator. Such important discussions would not be held around other characters because others know they are capable of hearing. ââ¬Å"If I signed up itââ¬â¢d be the same as coming right out and telling everybody I wasnââ¬â¢t deaf. If Iââ¬â¢d been hearing all this talk about boats and fishing itââ¬â¢d show Iââ¬â¢d been hearing everything else thatââ¬â¢d had been said in confidence around me for the past ten yearsâ⬠¦ I had to keep on acting deaf if wanted to hear it all (178). â⬠Bromden liked being able to listen in on Nurse Ratched and other workersââ¬â¢ conversations and his clandestine way of doing it made him a dependable, important character to the plot. Some of the information the Chief overhears foreshadows events. Nurse Ratched would often say confidential things around him because she too believed he was deaf. One day while Chief was sweeping the corridors, he overheard doctors in the staff meeting deciding how McMurphy should be handled due to his disruptive behavior. The doctors were debating whether or not to send him to the disturbed branch of the hospital. Nurse Ratched had a very interesting attitude toward this option and Bromden overheard: ââ¬Å"He is simply a man and no more, and is subject to all fears and all the cowardice and all the timidity that any other man is subject to. Given a few more days, I have a strong feeling that he will prove this, to us as well as the rest of the patients. If we keep him on the ward I am certain his brashness will subside, his self-made rebellion will dwindle to nothing, and our redheaded hero will cut himself down to something patients will all recognize and lose respect for (136)â⬠. This segment is very significant for foreshadowing the fact that McMurphy will receive a lobotomy later in the novel. This part of the novel helps lead up to the climax. Bromdenââ¬â¢s ability to discretely listen into conversations allows supplying information to the reader as well as advancing the plot. Although Bromden does have many advantages as the narrator, there are also many limitations due to his illness. Chief Bromdenââ¬â¢s schizophrenia creates problems for the reader. His schizophrenia causes him to hallucinate. A hallucination is a mistaken idea or an allusion. Sometimes Chief Bromden described things that could have been a hallucination but also could have been real because of his creative way of explaining. This can cause confusion for the reader. When Blastic died, Bromden described the death in a way that gave the impression it was a hallucination. He goes to the bed and with one hand grabs the old vegetable Blastic by the heel and lifts him straight up like Blastic donââ¬â¢t weight moreââ¬â¢s a few poundsâ⬠¦ The worker takes a scalpel and slices up the front of old Blastic with a clean swingâ⬠¦ I expect to be sick, but thereââ¬â¢s no blood or innards falling out like I was looking to see-just a shower of rust and ashes, and now and then a piece o f wire or glass (80, 81). â⬠Realistically, if Blastic were sliced open Bromden would see blood and bowels, but because Bromden describes what he sees as rust and wires, it gives the idea that this is only a hallucination. Surprisingly, though this seems unrealistic, Blastic did die during this scene of the novel but not how Bromden described it. This scene also seems like a hallucination because Bromden mentions retreating into ââ¬Å"the fog. â⬠He imagines that the staff controls a number of fog machines throughout the ward, and they are turned on whenever he is frightened. ââ¬Å"They start the fog machine again and itââ¬â¢s snowing down cold and white all over me like skim milk (13),â⬠describes Bromden before he receives electroshock therapy. The fog represents a safe haven for Bromden that makes him feel invisible to others when he is afraid. The fog limits the readerââ¬â¢s understanding of world inside the Mental Hospital because it allows Bromden to ignore reality. Abuse in Bromdenââ¬â¢s world, which he calls ââ¬Å"the Combine,â⬠could have been even more shocking if we had been able to understand what was actually happening while Bromden was ââ¬Å"hiding in the fog. â⬠As a narrator, Bromdenââ¬â¢s hallucinations and paranoia create limitations on his abilities to explain frightening details and can even cause confusion for the reader. The chief sees things in literal metaphors, he sees McMurphy as being really big in size because he is so brave (and big in spirit). The chief compares McMurphy to his father, because they were both such strong people. His father fought for a long time to save his land from the government, but eventually was made to give it up, this reduced him to wasting the rest of his life drinking and becoming a shadow of the man he once was. Using Chief Bromden as narrator has many ups and downs. He acts as an informational guide throughout the novel because he can secretly listen in on confidential conversations that foreshadow upcoming events. His ability to explain an event in such an effective manner also helps the reader better understands the story. Although, Chief Bromdenââ¬â¢s mental illness does create defects. His paranoia causes him to often retreat into ââ¬Å"the fogâ⬠as an escape from reality which can limit the readers understanding of atmosphere in the mental ward. The hallucinations also can make it difficult for the reader to differentiate a hallucination and reality. Ken Keseyââ¬â¢s experiences in the 1950ââ¬â¢s are expressed very well in his novel, One Flew over the Cuckooââ¬â¢s Nest, through the main character and narrator, Chief Bromden.

Effect of computer usage to the academic performance of the selected senior students Essay
INTRODUCTION Video games have come a long way since todayââ¬â¢s adults sat down at a computer to play Pong or Donkey Kong. The newest-generation gaming consoles are as powerful as personal computers, and can accomplish many of the same things. And todayââ¬â¢s games are increasingly realistic and technologically advanced. Social networking has even made its way into the video game industry with online gaming. These virtual worlds can be complicated and perplexing to parents, which is why itââ¬â¢s important for you to understand what your child is playing and when to get worried. Did You Know? In 2009, over 11 million people played World of Warcraft, an online, subscription fee-based multiplayer game. According to one study, nearly 1 in 10 young gamers displayed behavior patterns similar to addiction.1 The Kaiser Family Foundation found that 8- to 18-year-olds are exposed to an average of 10 hours and 45 minutes of media each day. Whether your child is an avid gamer or rarely picks up a controller, itââ¬â¢s important to understand the world of video gamesââ¬âespecially in the age of online gamingââ¬âso you can make your childââ¬â¢s experience with games both a positive and a beneficial one. ââ¬âââ¬âââ¬âââ¬âââ¬â 1. Douglas Gentile, ââ¬Å"Pathological Video Game Use among Youth 8 to 18: A National Study,â⬠CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Background of the study The youth of today no longer seem to spend their leisure activities like in the olden days; outdoor games or playing with toys, instead, they spend their free time in their homes, internet cafà ©s or computer shops simply to satisfy their hunger; and that hunger is Online Gaming. Online gaming has such a profound impact on not only the young, but dynamically every age group as well. So far, virtually anyone is able to go on a computer andà punch through the keys and mouse in order to get a high score, chat with players, get the rarest items, and level up as fast as possible. Yes, there seems to be no restriction as to whom, how or what online gaming can extend to. As in any situation where new technology is introduced, the social impact of the Internet is being looked at. One social problem that has been observed is that the Internet cafà © has become mainly game centres. About one-half to two-thirds of the computers in a typical Internet cafà ©, according to one study, are devoted to games (violent and gory games). The use of the remaining computers was roughly split between browsing, email, online chat, word processing and research. The Internet cafà ©s have become not just game centres. They are becoming centres off addiction among the youth, mostly boys, including elementary school pupils. According to one concerned Internet cafà © entrepreneur, ââ¬Å"Internet cafà ©s are seducing youths to a new form of addiction, one which may not destroy their bodies as drugs do, but which is certainly twisting their minds. To the young play is reality and reality is play.â⬠(Maslog C. (1998) Internet and Social Issues, Philippine Communication Today, Quezon City: New Day Publishers). Online gaming has emerged as a popular and successful source of entertainment and play for people of all ages, especially for the students. It refers to the games that are played over some forms of computer network, typically on the internet. These games are played online, in which you can connect with multiple players. It is normally platform independent, relying on the web browser and appropriate plug-in. It is one of the best inventions that is made ever by human beings. It has the ability to link players together. It has been one of the most popular activities in entertaining for younger people. Because of this, almost everybody is into it. Its fantastic characteristic makes a lot of students become hook on it. It provides entertainment and at the same time, online socialization with different kind of people. But sometimes, it causes negative effects. Development in technology brings many things that people donââ¬â¢t have many years back. One of these things is online gaming that is provided by the internet. Online gaming is one of the widely used leisureà activities by many people. Teenagers who are playing these online games said that they are playing these games just for fun, to keep away from the heat of the sun, without knowing that there are a lot of effects of playing these games that are more than what they think. Playing online games, according to some research is beneficial. It enables the mind of the players to be more active, especially those puzzle-based games. It helps the player to come up with decisions in tight situations, especially those adventure games that keep the players to be alert, active and strategic. Playing these types of games makes the player experienced different feelings because it is as if the player is really the one taking the challenges. Introduction As time passes by, technology continues to evolve. Because of technology, new things were created that sustains and lightens human work. Computers were created because of technology. Computers were the greatest thing ever invented by man itself. In the modern age, computers have become a part of manââ¬â¢s life. Almost all the things around us were made by computers with the aid of modern machines. From the edited books, design, special effects in movies, and televisions etc., were all made by computers. Along with the evolution of technology, computers continue to upgrade as well until the time that computer has now become a part of manââ¬â¢s everyday life that are hooked to computers. Computers can now edit documents to your PC, play mini games, search information you need using the internet, save documents to your PC and play online games. Itââ¬â¢s like an all-in-one gadget that can do all the things you want anytime you need it. From 1990 to the present year, online games had a big impact to us especially teenagers. Online games have many genres, including FPS games, MMORPG, Casual games and multiplayer games. A game will become an online game if it involves in using a computer or a series of computers with one player in each computer to battle it out with other players using the Internet depending on the game genre. ââ¬Å"Effects of computer usage to the academic performance of studentsâ⬠Chapter II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE The scope of Computer effects derives a wide scope of related literature that is worth mentioning. In this regard, this literature review concerning the effects of computer usage to the academic performance of students, will address the following areas relevant to this study: History of the Computer; Importance of Computers, Negative Effects of Gaming; Computer Crime; Computer Use recommendations; and conclusion. HISTORY OF THE COMPUTER Many people do not know how, or even when computers were first made. Even before the first electronic computers were made, many people believe that computers started with the abacus, a simple counting device. The abacus is believed to have been built in Babylon in the fourth century B.C. The ââ¬Å"First Generationâ⬠of computers started in the very late 1930ââ¬â¢s. These computers were grotesquely slow, colossal in size, created much heat, used hundreds of kilowatts of power, and were about as reliable as a used up match (www.pbs.org). As time went on, these computers evolved from using vacuum tubes to transistors. Transistors mark the beginning of the ââ¬Å"Second Generationâ⬠of computers in 1947. Unfortunately, the 2nd Generation did not advance as much as most people hoped, but eventually, the ââ¬Å"Third Generationâ⬠was brought about by the invention of integrated circuits in 1958. Integrated circuits replaced transistors, and many computer languages came out in this time. Many more computer companies were born during this time, and eventually this led to personal computers for everyday use. Microprocessors introduced the beginning of the ââ¬Å"Fourth Generationâ⬠and a time where computers were in almost every house. What Is The Importance Of Computer? Computers are extremely important in the modern world of today. In the fast moving life of the modern world of today, computers hold tremendous significance. Many of us will feel crippled without a computer, as we have gotten so used to this machine. The importance of computers can not be denied in the corporate or business world, at the work place and even in oneââ¬â¢s personal life. In the modern work place, pen are paper are becoming extent. It will not be long ,before pen and paper stop to exist altogether. Same is the case in schools and colleges. Children today are forgetting how to write and many blame their awful hand writing on this machine which has taught everyone to type at a speed of at least 50 to 60 words per minute. The children of today have bad handwritings and the children of tomorrow may not even know how to hold a pen. Thanks to the computer. Computer has become an important tool for keeping databases, filing systems, track records. It has made record keeping and account keeping much much easier than it ever was. It helps an organization save tons of times. It has made data analysis extremely easy, and it can be done at a single click of the mouse. Computers also serve as useful tools for communications . Normal post is now commonly referred to as snail mail, as the must faster email has replaced it. INTRODUCTION Development in technology brings many things that people donââ¬â¢t have many years back. One of these things is online gaming that is provided by the internet. Online gaming is one of the widely used leisure activities by many people. World Terrorism
Terrorism. It is a word that strikes fear into many. Terrorism has been around since the beginning of time, and has caused empires to rise, fall, and allowed people to gain power. Terrorism is a growing problem in this unstable world. A simple act of terrorism can cause tensions to break between two countries, as seen with Israel and Palestineaâ⠬â⠢s conflicts due to religious beliefs and territory disputes. Among the various potential threats are wars with neighboring countries, missile attacks on cites, biological and chemical terrorism, suicide bombings, and hostage taking. In an April 1999 survey the most feared terrorism was bombings on US soil. (Cole, 1) There are many ways to combat terrorism. First, would be an international team that is always on call to respond to terrorist threats, and retrieve hostages with minimal loss of life. The second is gun control, which would limit the weapons accessed by potential terrorists. The last thing is to recognize terrorist organ izations before they have a chance to attack. Terrorism has been around since the days of ancient Egypt.People have been killing leaders of countries to try and overthrow the government, and for the past one hundred and twenty years terrorists have had ne Terrorism, which has been around for as long as people can remember, has been on the rise for the past ten years. Terrorists use murder, kidnapping, hijacking, and bombings to almost always achieve a political purpose. These radicals are not just subject to the United States, terrorism is all over the world, in every way, shape and form. There are many different types of terrorism, for many different purposes. The primary reason for terrorist acts are to force a change in their nation's government. If terrorists are not satisfied with there government's political positions, they may end up taking the matters into there own hands. Another reason for terrorist acts are because of hate towards a race, nationality, or religion. For exam ple, in 1972 the Palestine Liberation Organization invaded Israeli dorms in the Munich Olympics, and held the Israeli athletes hostage until Israel would agree to release Palestinian terrorists that were captured in Israel. When Israel refused to comply with the terrorists demands, they blew up two helicopters which held the Israeli athletes, killing the whole team. This was one of the many cruel types of terrorism. In recent years, terrorism seems to be at a new high and attacks are more violent than in the past. With terrorism being so secretive and having no forewarning, it has been a real problem to deal with. The governments of many countries have tried to stop these cowardly acts, but they just seem to be on the rise.I have a few ideas that might work Solution: Since there are no fool-proof ways to predict when a terrorist will strike next, there can really be no complete answer to this problem. Even though there is no way to totally eliminate terrorism, my solutions may still prove valid. With the bombing of the World Trade Center, and the federal building in Oklahoma, rental moving trucks have been used to hold the bomb. An idea I have for this type of attack.

Advertising Campaign of McDonalds - Case Study Example and social issues.First of all, there was a rapid upsurge of public interest to the healthy lifestyle, and together with this tendency there was one more - McDonald's was gradually becoming a symbol of unhealthy eating that causes problems with health and obesity. At the end of the XXth century, Atkin's Diet gained a great amount of adherents, and it also affected the reputation of the fast-food giant, as people were becoming increasingly more concerned as for the volume of fat and carbohydrates, and in number of calories in their everyday meals, and surely, Big Macs, hamburgers, soft drinks with lots of sugar and French fries proved to be 'champions' as far as the content of 'bad' calories was concerned.Though the companies that were competing with McDonald's could not boast to serve healthier food, yet because McDonald's was the most popular chain of fast food restaurants,it played a trick on the company making it a 'collective' symbol embodying all the negative sides of eating junk. It cannot be overlooked that with the world's businesses becoming global and the emergence of various anti-global movements that blame multinational corporations for exploiting people and affecting the economy of the developing countries, McDonald's has also become a symbol of 'the world's corporate evil' that attempts to 'catch' the entire planet into its 'vicious net'. Taking into account all the above said, this new advertising campaign was meant to enhance the image of McDonald's so that to deal with the crisis the company found itself in. In contrast to the 2001-2002 campaign that targeted mainly children and family audiences ('Happy Meal', Ronald McDonald, playgrounds for children, toys, balloons, birthday parties etc.), the new global task for McDonald's was to attract young people and teenagers. McDonald's advertising campaign whose slogan has become 'I'm lovin' it' was launched in 2003, and proved to be a significant breakthrough as far as the company's branding is concerned. This slogan

Itââ¬â¢s like carrying out a research on income levels per gender and then running analysis to try to understand the difference in means income between males and females. The research uses secondary data and not primary data. The research attributes are sub-divided into non-overlapping sub-groups, factors, which area analyzed and presented together for a better understanding of the topical issue. The use of primary data is always encouraged as it results into tangible results which can be used to develop binging decisions unlike the secondary data. However, secondary data might be used in cases where the research study is not a new phenomenon and a researcher wants to build on assertions by other writers. The hypothesis developed and the research objectives are hand in hand. The use of data to influence mindsets so as to ensure proper understanding of migration benefits. Data collection was done by compiling the information from reports. The best thing for this research study to attain the required scientific rigor would have been to collect the data using any of the research tools i.e. questionnaire, interview or observations. But in this case, collecting information would have been expensive and may be it was not factored in the research study budget. The best method to sample the population would have been stratified random sampling where the population would be sub-divided into non-overlapping sub-groups. And then do a random sample from each stratum. This would be applied since the population being targeted is not homogenous but heterogeneous. A simple random sampling could only be used in case the population had the same traits. The results from this analysis could be used to centrally to explain the formulated hypothesis since the data represents the real situation and also since the data has both
