All’s fair in work and war It’s an age old argument, men are all around better than women. For decades a women’s job was in the kitchen, cooking meals or taking care of the children although for most of us these views are now outdated. The army however seems to think they still apply. Looking back though history we read of Joan of Arc, the French freedom fighter and of the Sufferage movements and we see women throughout the ages were getting involved with fighting and politics of war. The argument over whether to allow women on the frontlines of warfare has been highly discussed over the past few years but still in today’s â€Å"equal society† women are not being given the same opportunities as men. Women have the mental capacity to kill another and this line of denial that our military top dogs are taki ng is ridiculous. It is correct in that some women do not show the physical prowess of their male colleagues. But then again, there are plenty that do. Also the military training would work the same for women as it does for men in the way that women who meet the standards required of them would be drafted in the others would be let go. This argument is reinforced by a statement from Australian Defence Minister â€Å"If an individual woman has got the physical, mental and psychological capacity to do a job, then if they can do the job on merit, pass the same standards that a man passes, qualify in the same way a man does, then she should not be excluded†. Hence, it is important to properly understand what Epicurus means by ‘pleasure’ and an Epicurean will not seek every kind of pleasure. 3. Does Epicurus think it is possible to lead a virtuous but unpleasant life? Epicurus’ doctrine does not differentiate between that which is virtuous and that which is a path to pleasure. Conversely, any action of ours that is based on a striving for pleasure is undeniably virtuous. According to Epicurus, â€Å"It is impossible to live the pleasant life without also living sensibly, nobly and justly and conversely it is impossible to live sensibly, nobly and justly without living pleasantly†. Hence the author is equating those cherished virtues of sensibility, nobility and justice to the concept of pleasure. This assertion can be extended to mean that only that which is sensible which brings greater pleasure; only that which is just which is informed by a sense of pleasure; only that is noble which is based on our primary instinctive good. To support this doctrine, Epicurus poses to the reader a few rhetoric questions of the order â€Å"Can you think of anyone more moral than the person who has devout beliefs about the gods, who is consist ently without fears about death, and who has pondered man’s natural end?†, etc. 4. In nursing education this category the learners should be expected to be attentive to and be aware of learning, they listen with respect and remember the new information. Learners may experience acceptance or become committed to new information, learners also organize their values with prioritization. The learner should actively participate in learning. For example, asking questions and participates in discussion. Another example in the affective domain; how the diabetic deals with the fact that they have a disease that will need to be closely monitored for the rest of their life. The nurse will need to assess the alertness of the diabetic. Is the diabetic ready to listen to information about the disease and how to manage it? The third category is psychomotor. The skills in psychomotor domain are imitation, manipulation, precision, articulation, and naturalization. In nursing  education in this category the learner is expected to use sensory clues to imitate motor activity, follow instructions and practice after receiving information, the learner should be able to work unsupervised. The learner becomes more exacting in the process; they are able to do something correctly. The learners’ skills are developed and can modify actions to fit changes. The learner has a high level of routine skills without thinking too much about it. For example, the learner is able to detect the proper site for finger stick blood sugar testing, is able to withdraw an accurate dose of insulin with a syringe from a multi-dose vial, and is able to adjust glucose dosage to restore safe blood sugar level. In conclusion, many students are not taught to use critical thinking in contrast Blooms Taxonomy helps students including registered nurses to use higher level of thinking to improve learning. As registered nurses, we are life-long educators to our patients; in order to have success in our teaching we must utilize Blooms Taxonomy to assess our patient knowledge on what they are being taught. This dependence of the conveniences, big fast food corporations like for example, McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, offer the ingredients and recipe for the decline of Earth. These hidden forces behind the obesity epidemic have grown troublesome, and if the epidemic is not taken seriously soon, it will only grow, creating an even longer list of problems throughout the world. A higher demand on fast food will result higher demand for food sources, almost always resulting in more and more hormonal animal growth. More fast food being sold will contribute to an increase in obesity and often more times than not, will encourage the actions of laziness with their food and wrappers, contributing to more pollution. These concatenations of events are just like the domino effect, it’s the chemical formula for the destruction of the world. With all the factors put into place with the health problems, our food sources being tempered with, and our very own environment, it can be clearly seen that this is huge and continuously growing problem.
